The Embra story
At its best, energy is invisible.
Our energy is invisible. But we don’t want to be.

It all started when we decided to do it ourselves
Our story began with a practical problem.
In the early 2000s, we were looking for a better way to produce heat for one of our customers. We explored renewable energy and started building our first heating solutions.
Before long, we faced the next question: where could we get fuel that was good enough and reliable enough? We solved it by producing it ourselves. We built our own pellet production and started developing the energy value chain around it.
As our customers’ needs grew, so did our responsibility. Instead of simply supplying equipment, we began investing in, building, operating and maintaining energy production on behalf of our customers.
The same mindset still guides us today. If something needs doing, we get to work. If something does not work well enough, we find a better way. And if the whole thing can be done smarter, we do it.
That is how we grew into an energy company that does more than deliver solutions. We take responsibility for them.

If something needs doing, we get to work. If something does not work well enough, we find a better way. And if the whole thing can be done smarter, we do it.
The courage to make the next move
The energy industry is changing fast. Good.
New technologies, changing energy markets and evolving customer needs are constantly opening up better ways of doing things. We are not in the habit of waiting to see where others go. We watch, calculate, test and invest when we see a better way forward.
But we do not choose a technology simply because it is new. We choose what works at the customer’s site – reliably, at a sensible cost and also when conditions are less than ideal.
For us, growth means new solutions, new investments and, sometimes, decisions that have not been made before. But courage does not mean taking risks for the sake of it. It means having the confidence to make the next move when we know why we are making it.
In the end, a solution is only good if it works in real life.
When energy becomes something our customers do not have to think about, we know we have succeeded.
It all starts with people
Embra is built by people who know what they are doing and care about doing it well.
For us, expertise does not mean having every answer from the start. We ask when we do not know. We speak up when something can be done better. And when something needs to get done, we get to work.
Everyone understands the importance of their own work, but understanding the bigger picture matters just as much. Energy is the result of many different skills working together – from design to production, from construction to operations, and from maintenance to customer service.
Embra is over 40 people, supported by a network of long-standing partners across Finland. Through our operations, we indirectly employ another 50–100 people each year.
Good people make a difference you can see.

Sustainability shows in what we do
For us, sustainability is not built on individual promises. It shows in where our energy comes from, what we buy, who we buy from and where we invest.
We produce more than 70,000 tonnes of Finnish wood pellets every year from industrial side streams. In 2026, at least 95% of our total purchases are sourced domestically. We continuously invest in new energy production solutions and build capacity designed to produce renewable energy for years to come.
Our energy plants are also made in Finland, with Finnish expertise and labour. When the energy, fuel, investments and much of the work are created close to home, their impact reaches far beyond energy production itself.
At the same time, we develop solutions that help our customers reduce emissions from energy production and use energy more efficiently.
To us, sustainability is first and foremost about actions that stand up to closer scrutiny.
Think big. Stay close.
We have the ambition to grow, but we do not want growth to take us further away from our customers.
We know the sites, the technologies and the everyday reality in which an energy solution has to perform. That is why we stay close, even as we deliver energy and solutions across Finland and increasingly beyond Finland as well.
We do an unusually large part of the work ourselves. We design and build solutions, invest in the plants, operate and maintain them, and produce our own pellets. This gives us control over a large part of the energy production value chain.
For our customers, that means a simpler way of working. When responsibility is not spread across a long chain of suppliers, we can respond quickly and there is no ambiguity about who takes responsibility. Greater control also means stronger security of supply and a system whose different parts are designed to work together.
Fewer middlemen. More responsibility.
Technology is a tool for us, not the starting point. First, we want to understand the customer’s business, the operating conditions and what the site actually needs. Then we choose the solutions that work in practice.
