Fuels and energy
Full steam ahead.
The right energy source for the right site. And when one isn’t enough, we bring technologies together to build a system that works smarter.

Biomass
Certified wood pellets made in Finland. A reliable way to turn renewable energy into heat. Pellets are particularly well suited to sites with a steady heat demand and a need for dependable production.
Geothermal
Energy from the ground. Geothermal heating and cooling tap into the energy stored beneath our feet. It is well suited to sites that need a steady supply of heat and where ground conditions support a geothermal solution.
Electricity
Flexible by nature. An electric boiler delivers heat quickly and precisely. It can operate on its own or as part of a hybrid system, bringing different energy sources into play as needed.
Heat pumps
Energy from the environment. Air-source and air-to-water heat pumps make use of the heat already present in the environment. They can be integrated into existing systems or combined with other forms of heat production.
No single energy source has all the answers.
The right energy mix starts with what is actually needed
Every site has its own rhythm. How much energy you use, when you use it, what you produce, what’s already in place and where you’re heading next – it all matters.
So we don’t start with a favourite technology. We start with the site. Then we put the right energy sources and technologies to work together.
The result? A system built around your needs, not the other way around.

Wood pellets
Heat that you can count on
The wood pellets used by Embra are manufactured at our own factories. We use by-products from the sawmill and forest industries as raw material, putting these side streams to efficient use as a source of energy.
Pellets burn efficiently, with efficiency of over 90%. They can be used to produce heat at capacities of up to 5 MW.
Producing pellets in Finland keeps jobs and value creation here. It also strengthens energy security by reducing reliance on imported fuels.

Geothermal heating and cooling
Heat and cooling from the ground
There’s energy right beneath our feet. We put it to work.
A geothermal heating system collects energy from the ground and uses a heat pump to raise its temperature to a level suitable for heating.
The solution can be designed as the foundation of a new energy system or integrated into an existing one. The right solution depends on factors such as the site’s energy needs, heat distribution system and ground conditions.

Electric boiler and thermal storage
Energy when it’s needed.
Electricity from renewable sources can be put to work flexibly as part of heat production. An electric boiler responds quickly when heat demand changes, while a thermal storage unit smooths out the peaks and dips by storing heat for later.
An electric boiler and thermal storage fit naturally into a hybrid system, where different energy sources and technologies work together as needed. The system can be adjusted based on heat demand, operating conditions and the price of electricity.
Use it when you need it. Store it when you don’t.

Heat Pumps
Heating and cooling from the environment.
A heat pump extracts energy from the environment and transfers it to where it is needed. This makes it possible to utilise energy that is already available in the environment without the need for separate fuels.
Air-Source Heat Pumps
There is energy in the outdoor air even when it is not immediately noticeable. An air-source heat pump captures this energy and transfers it to the heating and cooling system. It can be implemented as a standalone solution or as part of a wider energy production system.
Air-to-Water Heat Pumps
An air-to-water heat pump extracts energy from the outdoor air and transfers it to a hydronic heating system. It can be connected to an existing heat distribution system and integrated with other forms of heat production.
One technology, many ways to use it.

Let’s get your energy sorted.
You bring the challenge. We’ll bring the know-how.
Then we put the right pieces together.
